All Auditors Welcome to USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic February 16, 2015
WELLINGTON FL – February 9, 2015 – The USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic is returning to Wellington on February 16, 2015 at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center and encourages all auditors to attend this unique event. All spots are filled by amateurs and juniors who are active USHJA Zone 4 members and Bobbie Reber, International hunter and equitation judge and trainer, will be the clinician.
The winter circuit can get repetitive, riders and horses need a way to battle complacency and step up their game in the show ring. Why not leave the horse show and see how the riders work with their horses under the guidance of Reber? Flatting and jumping exercises will be demonstrated, at respective heights. Understand what an international judge thinks about the performance throughout the clinic. Watch as competitive riders step out of the winter circuit and work on the fundamentals to improve their skills.
Reber’s training philosophy is aimed at helping the rider figure out how to get the most out of their horse, regardless of the level and discipline. “One of the main things I’ve always worked towards is to try and get the most out of the horse,” Reber said. “Not make the horse go your way, but for you to try and figure out how the horse wants to go.”
As Eric Lamaze’s former trainer, Reber has firsthand experience with developing talent and horses. “Eric was one of my riders, and I was very fortunate that with him, it didn’t matter what I put him on, he rode it the way it wanted go. That was always my focus with any of the kids that I trained, many of which are trainers now,” Reber remembers.
Breakfast for clinic riders and attendees has generously been donated by the Starbucks at the corner of Wellington Trace and Forest Hill Blvd. Clinic attendees can enjoy a selection of Starbucks pastries and coffee while they watch the first two groups of riders, that will go before lunch. Site manager of the Wellington Trace Starbucks, Tom Sandberg, will be personally serving all of the delicious goodies Starbucks has provided, and expresses his excitement at the opportunity to continue his involvement with Wellington’s flourishing equestrian community.
California Pizza Kitchen of Boca Raton, Florida, has donated a complimentary lunch for clinic participants. Riders, plus one registered guest, can look forward to a fantastic spread, such as a wide variety of original-hand tossed pizzas baked to perfection in a brick oven. California Pizza Kitchen will also provide an assortment of their delectable pastas, along with fresh and flavorful salads. This entire meal has been provided at no charge thanks to California Pizza Kitchen’s generosity.
The Wellington and Boca Raton California Pizza Kitchen locations will also host a fundraiser for the 2015 USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic on Wednesday, February 18. If supporters of Zone 4 are interested in raising money for the clinic, they can bring in the flier below, and 20 percent of their total bill will be donated to the USHJA Zone 4 Free Clinic.
