New Year’s Resolutions Made and Broken No More
Many people make New Year’s Resolutions, but the majority of those who do also fail to keep them. If you are one of the countless with good intentions who failed last year, one reason may be that you set unrealistic goals, or maybe you just did not have enough support to help you be true to yourself.
For fun, we put together a list of new year’s resolutions horse people make and how, if you made resolutions, your horse can help you keep them all.
(Your New Year’s Resolution)
YOUR HORSE SAYS
(How Your Horse Can Help You)
|1. I will lose weight.||Or you could up my feed and I can gain weight and we will balance each other out.|
|2. I will eat less junk food.||Cool, give it to me, especially the cookies. It will help with #1.|
|3. I will workout more often.||Good! You should go to the gym. Do lots and lots of leg days and be sure not to ride the next dew days or you will lose all the benefits of leg training because we all know that when you ride the horse does all the work.|
|4. I will develop a more independent seat.||I can just stand there instead of doing all that silly working stuff — standing still will make it a lot easier for you to stay balanced.|
|5. I will improve my jumping.||You want me to dump you after the jump from now on so technically you will make it over more fences?|
|6. I will walk my dog more often.||Uh, yeah, no to the dog. Walk me instead to the special grassy area that you love so much. I won’t even make you pick up my poop in a baggie and carry it home.|
|7. I will be on time for all my riding lessons.||It’s easy, you can always tell the time by when you last ate and how long until they next meal.|
|8. I will try to communicate better with my horse.||Good because I have been trying to tell you for a long time now that you are not giving me enough carrots for my eyes in order to see proper distances to fences.|
|9. I will save more money for the future.||Hahaha yeah right. You have a horse!|
|10. I will sleep in on weekends, have more of a social life, a clean car, and stop taking selfies at the barn.||See my answer to resolution #9 above.|
